Weirdness: Penguin becomes a 'Sir'

"A penguin which was previously made Colonel-in-Chief of the Norwegian Army has been knighted at Edinburgh Zoo."

It's somehow not surprising that the penguin Nils Olav made it all the way to the rank of Colonel-in-Chief in the Norwegian Army, nor that he's been knighted. What's surprising here is that the link is from BBC, which I up to 15 minutes ago considered a serious source for serious news.
